I have suddenly found I'm ready to settle down
So come on get your rocks off
I'm gonna knock your socks off you see,
Oh, yeah. Come on pretty baby we're gonna raise a family."
Here we are the night before our wedding, opening gifts in my mother's living room.
It's been seventeen years, and they said it wouldn't last. Who said it wouldn't last? My whole family. My old boyfriend, the one that called several times the night before the wedding. Dennis' mother. She did not vant me in ze vedding pictures, at least not the family pictures from ze vedding. She told the photographer she did not vant to haf to take them down vhen ve got divorced.

My parents prayed for us. My Dad did not mind Dennis being in the wedding pictures, but don't kid yourself, Dad was no charmer that weekend. You see, Dad was not in favor of the union, so he offered Dennis five grand to split the night before the wedding, saying"I only have $25 hundred on me tonight, but I can wire you the rest when you get 500 miles out of town." Dennis stuck around. He's a good guy. Dad got used to the idea, although he never did remember his name. He always called him What's His Name, as in "How's What's His Name?"

We were young and in love, and very optimistic. See how happy we were as we cut the cake?
So what if nobody thinks it will last? We knew we were good for each other, and we are.

"There'll be no hesitating cause I'm so tired of waiting for a true, fine love.
Someone or other like a sister or brother, a true, fine love. The time is right for walking in the moonlight, I have suddenly found I'm ready too settle down."
Married life was good.
Eventually we got that baby for which we had been longing.
Then along came her brother.

"We'll have a boy for you, we'll have a girl for me
Come on baby raise a family"
Come on baby raise a family"

And the years continue to be good to us.
Of course, the kids got bigger, and sadly so did I.
But we had faith in each other, and we still do. Happy anniversary, Dennis. Are you feeling the love? I'm feeling the love. Bliss, I tell you. Pure marital bliss.
"Cause the time is right for walking in the moonlight I have suddenly found I'm ready to settle down
We'll have a boy for you, we'll have a girl for me
Come on baby raise a family
So come on take your socks off
I'm gonna knock your rocks off, you'll see, Oh yeah.
Come on pretty baby we're gonna raise a family."
And happy anniversary to MaryBeth and Joe, who celebrate their anniversary today. They set a fine example for us young married couples. Longevity. Gotta love it. Oh, yeah

That is one gorgeous wedding gift. I showed it to Lee so he'd know who gets all those dishcloths.
That was a very nice post.
Hooray for true love!!!!! And I was feeling cocky because I'm about to celebrate 3 years.
Happy anniversary. Mrs G
Congrats! We just celebrated 16 years in May. Don't you love it when you can say, "I told you so!"

I forgot both your anniversary and ours, too. Happy belated wishes - the pix are perfect. May you stay forever young. Love, MB
